Easter Sunday is one of those iconic picture perfect moments. Your little ones are all decked out in their best spring garb with not a hair out of place—well, at least for the picture part of the morning. Then grass, mud and Easter baskets attack. Hey, fun happens!
For as long as possible, you want your tiny tots to look their best. Here are some of this year’s spring fashion trends that will help you get there:
Sparkling Little Miss Sunshine
All things yellow work for both girls and boys this season. Spring trends are usually about pastels, and this year is no exception; 2016’s take includes natural tones like seafoam green and lemon yellow for girls. Look for illustrated dresses and scarves in soft, flowy fabrics. Sticking with nature, graphic t-shirts featuring underwater scenes, sea animals, and all things natural complete the look.
Kid’s hair trend: Braids with Bling
The number one girls’ spring hair trend is the braid; no matter what hair length or texture—even a small partial braid is big right now. Add ribbon in spring colors, colorful tinsel hair strands, or flowers and flower clips for fashionista spring bling.
Dashing Little Dude
Graphic t-shirts are huge with both boys and girls this season. Both kid’s trends include sea life; boy’s fashion leans towards sharks and tropical plant life. Look for subtly darker, muted hues on boys. Yellow is still huge, but it is less saturated and more monotone. Your little guy will look great in hoodies, mono-plaids and hats this spring. Trends are rising with lots of illustrations, sketches, drawings and maps. A decidedly vintage postage or traveler notebook feel overall.
Kid’s hairstyle: Textured and Tousled
Boys’ spring hair trends are classic. Messy still looks good, especially with a hat. Just a little product and some piecing is all you need to make him look dapper and picture ready.
